God Gold of the day

A special “Earth Day” message from one of my best buddies Taylor Snipes! He’s one of the most faithful and genuine dudes I’ve ever had the privilege of knowing! And since it’s earth day, how fitting and awesome is it that he is a farmer?!?! Hearing some nature filled truth from a man who lives in the midst of it! Get ready, you are about to be seriously blessed with these words from Taylor today!!!
“The earth and everything in it, the world and its inhabitants, belong to the LORD; for he laid its foundation on the seas and established it on the rivers”
Psalm 24:1
What’s going on God Gold readers? I am thankful that Jordan has given me this opportunity to encourage you today with the witness of both God’s works and his Word. Today is earth day, a day in which the world collectively recognizes, celebrates, and advocates for environmental change. As an assistant farm manager, I spend most of my time during the day outside working the land in preparation for vegetable crops. Over the past year I have made countless observations of God’s creative hand and the lessons he can teach through the natural world. Truly, what He has made testifies to His eternal power and divine nature (Romans 1:20). From the very beginning, we were given the responsibility to fill the earth, rule over the living things, and work the garden. (Genesis 1-2). Without question however, man’s sin has had devastating effects in every aspect of our lives, including the physical earth. Unfortunately today we see man’s exploitation of earth at the expense of both people and the environment. It is also troubling to know that many will never give God the credit for the many things they have so benefited from. Many scientists spend their entire careers gaining recognition through the natural world, all the while denying God’s existence.
An absolute integral part of loving God with all our being is to care for all things He has created, for He is the owner of it all! A genuine care for the environment can powerfully demonstrate the love of Christ to our fellow neighbors who also share concerns about the earth. Our goal should be to model the same compassion for the world that Jesus did. “For God so loved the world, that he gave His only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” John 3:16. My challenge to you is observe your thoughts and attitudes towards God’s creation. Is it one of genuine concern for neighbor, other living creatures, and the land?
One of the cool ways The Lord can show us a small glimpse of the promise of resurrection is through the simple example of the change of seasons. The transition from winter to spring time can be viewed in light of Christ’s resurrection. What’s been dead during the cold winter is brought back to life as spring is ushered in. Spring means flowering plants creating a sanctuary for flying insects, cold blooded creatures warming in the sun, and sparrows collecting food without worry. As Christians, our sins once left us dead in the cold of winter darkness. But because of Jesus suffering death for us and being raised to life from the dead, we too are born again to a new life by God’s grace.
Practical Application– During a season of quarantine, I encourage you to take a short walk outside and observe the wonderful works the Lord has made. Let Him know of your awe and wonder. Consider getting outside this week in your time of worship. Take a few minutes to consider how you could pursue greater faithfulness to God in care for His creation. In my evening walks this week I am committing myself to picking up trash left on the roadways!
Christmas without Christ is just Mas, who wants to celebrate Mas?!? That sounds terrible and I had an experience recently to share here in this video below, that proves Christmas without Christ, just Mas, is even worse than it sounds! Hope this is a blessing to you today and a big encouragement in your faith!!!

“”Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.”
Matthew 7:13-14
I hope everyone had a great start to the week! I’m excited and completely humbled to be able to share this message with you from God’s Word. I honestly don’t deserve to even speak these words or be able to share of this God Gold with you but thank God for His mercy and grace allowing us to walk with Him in this life!
That’s the message today, with this passage where Jesus is speaking of the wide gate and easy path that leads to destruction. Then about the narrow gate and the more difficult path that leads to LIFE, LIFE with Him. Just think about this for a second, why do we even deserve to walk on this path to life and have a life lived walking step by step in a loving relationship with the Creator of all?
The thing is that had really struck me today is that we don’t in any way deserve the chance to know God or much less walk on the narrow road to life with Him. We don’t deserve any of it. To think that before this road to life was made possible, there wasn’t any chance for us. Literally zero. Our lives because of our sinful nature and how they rebel so deeply against the heart of God, we deserved to live a life stuck with no way out on the wide path that leads to destruction day in and day out.
That’s what we deserve.
But then God turned the tables. In His immense love and mercy, He sent His Son Jesus to die the death that we deserved. When we had no way out of this road to destruction, Jesus paid the price for our sins and bridged the gap from this wide road to the narrow. Think about it like a bridge that has two sides to it but in the middle there is a big gaping hole that makes it impossible for any human to get to the other side. Although we could see God and know that the other side would be better than this road of destruction, there was no possible way to get there. We’ve tried millions of things throughout history to build contraptions and different man made ways to reach the other side but every single time our ingenuity ends up short and there we are….stuck. Picture every person in the world, this wide majority on this wide road of destruction with no way to get to the other side. We yearn for a way but until Jesus came there was no way.
Now, I know this sounds crazy but when Jesus came, He was the only one who had what it took to bridge that gap to the other road, to get back into relationship and live life with God. Jesus was the only one who could face the same temptations we face daily and endure them, remaining perfect throughout it all. Jesus is the only one that had what it took and what was needed for us to be saved.
To give you a picture of what that looked like just imagine that ourselves as humans were too short. There was no jumping or stretching across that we could do to bridge that gap, because we simply do not have what it takes. But Jesus, in His crazy amount of love for us laid down His life for us. As He laid down His life on the cross, doing what only He could do and no one else could, it was like all the humans of the world were too short but Jesus came along and was SUPER TALL!!! So He did what we couldn’t and only He could and He laid His tall body across the gap and had what it took to reach from one side to the other.
So now as Jesus has laid His body down as a sacrifice, He allowed us to walk across His body to reach this other road to LIFE and life with God!!! Jesus bridged the gap by sacrificing Himself and putting us before Him, allowing us to walk across His body to the other side. Sounds kind of crazy I know but it’s a picture of what Jesus has done for us! There shouldn’t even be a discussion of another road to walk down but Jesus showed the greatest example of love that could ever be shown. Doing what we couldn’t do and bridging that gap so we too could walk in all of the LIFE that God had in store for us.
We don’t deserve it, we don’t deserve Jesus, but the truth is and says right here from His heart that we have Jesus and because of Him we have been given LIFE!!! Life that contains all that we could never have on our own, a life of freedom, complete joy and peace, a life of purpose to guide others across the bridge over the sacrifice Jesus has made and walk into a relationship with God where they can begin living like never before.
The sad part is that I myself and so many of us overlook the importance and magnitude of what Jesus has done. Just how awesome and amazing it is that when we didn’t have a way, Jesus gave up literally everything to be that way that leads us to a life lived by His side!!! It’s easy to sit here and encourage you to choose the narrow road over the wide but I don’t want to say just what sounds good. I want to tell you the truth, the truth that I too struggle to grasp and hold tightly to the massive GOOD NEWS that Jesus has brought to our life! I want to tell you that I struggle to stay in focus of the truth that I don’t deserve this life I’ve been given with Jesus. But I also want to encourage you in this truth and pray that God will move us to grow together in daily recognition and set our focus on the reality of what Jesus has made possible!!!
We may not deserve the gap between us and God to be bridged but because of Jesus and all He has done…..He has given us a way so we no longer have to walk with the majority down the path to destruction but we can walk in the abundance of LIFE that comes with having a persona relationship with God! I am extremely humbled by this truth and I am thankful to be able to share with you this truth! It’s nothing we can ever do but it’s all Jesus, so let’s walk in this LiFE with Him together and live each day in light of the fact that it’s all Jesus!!!!
Happy Easter everyone but more importantly if you haven’t heard already, JESUS HAS RISEN, HE IS ALIVE!!!!! Hope you find some powerful Gospel truth in these verses from God’s Word and this video adding some color not just to today, but EVERYDAY!!
