Testimony Tuesday: Do You REALLY love God?

God Gold of the day

“If you REALLY love God, you would be reading His Word!”

-Travis Dixon

Convicting statements like this one call for a challenge to make a response of action! By spending time in Gods Word today, it’s the decision that will not only change your day, but your life!!!

“King David said this about him: ‘I see that the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.”

Acts 2:25

“I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.”

Psalms 119:11

Motivation Monday

God Gold of the day

-“We are all faced with a series of great opportunities brilliantly disguised as impossible situations.” – Chuck Swindoll

So often in life we are faced with situations that seem impossible to overcome. It’s easy to look at them and feel like a victim, saying; “why God, why are you putting me through this?”

God’s answer opens up a new perspective; “Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”

James 1:2-4

Gods Word says to “count it all joy” when you face “impossible situations,” Why? Because these challenging moments in our lives are really opportunities to GROW, to come to the end of ourselves and place our dependance more and more on God! These are the moments that define us, it’s the walking through the Fire moments, where God melts away the bad parts of us and creates in us the good parts of Him. There’s purpose in the pain we face, and God is using it to produce something beautiful in our lives, something greater than we could ever create on our own.

Whatever you may be going through today, even though they seem like impossible situations, see them in God’s light as what they really are; great opportunities!

No longer complaining or playing the victim role in these moments, but embrace these moments with JOY because God is opening up a door to endless opportunities!!!

Word Wednesday: “Diakonia”

God Gold of the day

Word Wednesday:
[Diakonia] ——> Service

[Diakonia] is a term meaning “service, to serve, to render selfless service unto. Can refer to helps and service of various kinds which can range in meaning from spiritual biblical teaching (Acts 6:4) to the practical giving of provisions, supplies, support, and finances to those in need. (2 co 9:12)

[Diakonia] is also the worldwide movement of those commitment to the vision of Christian service, action, and justice making.

When I was doing some research, I could help but see the statement “to render selfless service unto.” This rattles me, I want to “render selfless service unto The Father” no matter the cost or restriction. We have seen over and over again where God does the impossible for those that believe and trust in him. Are you willing to

Render……selfless…….service……?

Meditation Monday: “Grab onto His Word and ask ?’s”

God Gold of the day

‘It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” ‘

Deuteronomy 31:8

Wanted to share this verse with you today because it was such a big encouragement to me, I pray it will be just as much or even more so encouraging to you!!! At first, I was going to send this verse because it’s one of those “encouraging verses” we see all over God’s Word and it fit because of the troubled times we are surrounded by but I felt convicted just sending this without really digging into it myself. What I found, and I hope with the help of these questions I asked myself. you will find that it’s more than just an “encouraging verse!” It’s TRUTH, and it’s REAL!!!!

So easily, I’ve found myself just reading verses and glancing over them saying, “oh yeah that’s good stuff!” But then I just go about my day and that verse has no effect on me in the way I live or handle situations that come my way. What I realized is this; God’s Word is more than just words on a page that are meant to make us feel good temporarily. God’s Word is meant to be grabbed onto and not just glanced over but looked into deeply. And when I say “grab onto” His Word I mean grabbing tightly and squeezing it for all the Gold that He has in store. I’ve noticed in my own quiet time this week how easily and lazily I don’t do this when handling His Word but when I have dug deeper, God’s Word sticks to me throughout my day. It molds and shapes every action I take and decision I make, it reminds me of who He is and how He feels/acts towards me constantly when I need it the most. I wanted to pose a few questions for you here to use with this verse or whatever verse you’re reading that I pray will help you grab onto God’s Word and dig deeper like never before!!! I pray that this helps you in some way, as I’ve already seen the few times I’ve tried this method and the life-giving/changing results that His Word has, I want nothing more than for you to experience His Word at work in this way too in your own lives!

Why is this encouraging to me?

Who does God show that He is here? How does those things or attributes play into my life?

What is God saying He will and can do in my life?

What situations that I have faced or face on a daily basis that having this understanding of who God is and how He works in my life, what situations would this truth play a role in? How would this truth about God move me or help me?

Build a list of questions, whatever comes to mind, these are just a few questions of many that could be asked. What’s cool about asking questions when it comes to God’s Word is that the answers you find will without a doubt change your life as you grow to know God more deeply.
