God Gold of the Day
Today I have a challenge for you. Had the chance to step away from the busyness, mundane of every day life, with schedules, things to do, and distractions. Got to step away from that and step into God’s creation, spend some time with God just me and Him. Looking out over a beautiful landscape of greenery and blue skies, it’s breathtaking at first glance and even more so when realizing the same God we serve is the One who created this with His own hands.
Spending this time today with God was revitalizing and refreshing as anything I’ve ever done. It’s so easy to get caught up in our lives and all the things we have going on from day to day, get caught up in our gadgets and technology to the point we lose out on the beauty of people and places God has gifted us with. It’s easy to get caught up and forget about spending quiet, intimate, and personal time with God but I challenge you and myself to make this time a priority, whether it’s a mountain hike or in your backyard, just get out and get with God. Be still before Him and wait to hear His voice, dig into His Word and learn more about who He is and His heart for you.
The easy thing to do is pass these moments up or say, “maybe one day soon when I have time.” The hard thing to do is prioritize the time for God and actually do it!!! It’s crazy how the choice that’s harder usually leads to a greater reward. Spending this time with the Lord today has been a gift like no other, that’s why I challenge you in this, because you don’t know how worth it this is until you do it.
And this was a verse from the quiet time spent with my buddy Craig today…..
“I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry. He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord. Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust, who does not turn to the proud, to those who go astray after a lie! You have multiplied, O Lord my God, your wondrous deeds and your thoughts toward us; none can compare with you! I will proclaim and tell of them, yet they are more than can be told.”
Psalms 40:1-5
