TBT: Source of Our Strength

God Gold of the day

Another “Old Gold” that has worth that keeps rising daily!!!! Hope these truths can be of some encouragement for you today and most of all, bring you closer to God than ever before!

Deuteronomy 31:7-8

Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, “Be strong and courageous, for you shall go with this people into the land that the Lord has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you shall put them in possession of it. It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”

I’ve always done this thing where I see verses like this, I see “be strong and courageous”, then I get all hype cause as the manly man I am I got that covered right? Nah not so much lol. I see that then try to attack life and all the struggles that come with it and for some reason it doesn’t always work. I wonder why it doesn’t and it’s really pretty simple. “I” try to be strong and courageous without HIM! That’s where verse 8 comes in, Moses didn’t just tell Joshua to be strong and courageous, pat him on the back and ride off into the sunset. He made sure Joshua knew where and who the source of all his strength comes from. I notice I live out my life and try to overcome things majority of the time just off verse 7. I forget to keep reading, or to remind myself that my strength and courage come from the Lord. So, when living life with both these verses in mind, things change, we overcome, we are capable of so much more! It’s super easy to draw off our own strength but what’s the point when the truth is we don’t have enough anyways? We have a God that goes before us, that never leaves or forsakes us, a God of deliverance, a God that makes being strong and courageous so much easier than we can on our own! I don’t know about y’all but my verse 7 only lifestyle usually doesn’t work out too well so let’s be strong, be courageous, and know that everything we have comes from a much higher power, a God that changes lives

Meditation Monday: “Grab onto His Word and ask ?’s”

God Gold of the day

‘It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” ‘

Deuteronomy 31:8

Wanted to share this verse with you today because it was such a big encouragement to me, I pray it will be just as much or even more so encouraging to you!!! At first, I was going to send this verse because it’s one of those “encouraging verses” we see all over God’s Word and it fit because of the troubled times we are surrounded by but I felt convicted just sending this without really digging into it myself. What I found, and I hope with the help of these questions I asked myself. you will find that it’s more than just an “encouraging verse!” It’s TRUTH, and it’s REAL!!!!

So easily, I’ve found myself just reading verses and glancing over them saying, “oh yeah that’s good stuff!” But then I just go about my day and that verse has no effect on me in the way I live or handle situations that come my way. What I realized is this; God’s Word is more than just words on a page that are meant to make us feel good temporarily. God’s Word is meant to be grabbed onto and not just glanced over but looked into deeply. And when I say “grab onto” His Word I mean grabbing tightly and squeezing it for all the Gold that He has in store. I’ve noticed in my own quiet time this week how easily and lazily I don’t do this when handling His Word but when I have dug deeper, God’s Word sticks to me throughout my day. It molds and shapes every action I take and decision I make, it reminds me of who He is and how He feels/acts towards me constantly when I need it the most. I wanted to pose a few questions for you here to use with this verse or whatever verse you’re reading that I pray will help you grab onto God’s Word and dig deeper like never before!!! I pray that this helps you in some way, as I’ve already seen the few times I’ve tried this method and the life-giving/changing results that His Word has, I want nothing more than for you to experience His Word at work in this way too in your own lives!

Why is this encouraging to me?

Who does God show that He is here? How does those things or attributes play into my life?

What is God saying He will and can do in my life?

What situations that I have faced or face on a daily basis that having this understanding of who God is and how He works in my life, what situations would this truth play a role in? How would this truth about God move me or help me?

Build a list of questions, whatever comes to mind, these are just a few questions of many that could be asked. What’s cool about asking questions when it comes to God’s Word is that the answers you find will without a doubt change your life as you grow to know God more deeply.

Sticky Note Challenge

God Gold of the Day

Had a pretty cool idea for a challenge for you today! After sharing James 4 with y’all yesterday, I remembered when I got so jacked up about those verses for the first time, I let it be known to those around me. I was in college at the time, living with two of my close buddies at a place we called the “farmhouse.” I got so jacked up about James 4 that I got a pad of sticky notes, wrote little notes throughout the house, some funny little sayings, some encouraging stuff like “have an awesome day, you deserve it, with all of the notes saying “JAMES 4” in huge letters! At the time James 4 was hitting me in some big ways so I thought, what a awesome way to encourage my buddies in that truth too! So for the next few months, my two roommates would find these “James 4” sticky notes hidden throughout the house in the wildest of places. It ended up being something we still talk about today just from that wild idea to sticky note their everyday lives, James 4 will never be forgotten by any of us!

So today, I challenge you to get some sticky notes and write some encouraging Scripture on them. It may be something that encourages you, it could be just a funny little note, or you could just leave something encouraging for that person to find! It seems like it may be a waste of time but I promise, if you take the time to take this challenge on full go, you have no idea the impact that a simple sticky note placed in the midst of others daily lives can have for the rest of their lives! And if you don’t live with anybody, place them throughout your work place, in friends cars, whatever place you can find that a sticky note will stick!

Have some fun with this challenge today and sticky note the mess out of somebody’s life! They will get a kick out of it and they will thank you too, because nothing is greater than finding encouragement in the mundane things of life. Like opening up your cabinet to get a bowl for your food, there’s a sticky note. Opening up a book to read, there’s a sticky note. Opening up the dishwasher to do the dishes, there’s ANOTHER STICKY NOTE!!! There are zero limits on where these sticky notes can go!!! Get to sticking up some encouragement in the lives around you!!!!

And here’s a sticky note I wanted to stick in your life today!!!

GOD Gold

God Gold of the Day

You are a hiding place for me; you preserve me from trouble; you surround me with shouts of deliverance. Selah I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭32:7-8‬ ‭

Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.””

‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭31:6‬ ‭

Just wanted to share some verses with you today and leave them here for you! This post and probably the next few I’m going to share God’s Word sharing with us more about WHO God is, how He feels about us, His heart, attributes, promises, everything about God!! I’ve just came to a place in my life and with these messages where I know I don’t have what it takes but the good thing is He does. I’ve noticed that learning more about Him and just all He has for us, it brings me deeper in my relationship with Him, it helps me walk out my life with Him and for Him, God changes everything. I pray over these next few messages that you too have the same God changing events in your life and relationship with Him. I pray we come to know Him deeper and the love He has for us because the more we grow in WHO He is, it changes everything in our lives and I pray that this Word from God and His love will completely turn your world upside down in the best ways possible! I love you but God loves you way more! Sit on these verses and take some serious time alone with God getting to know Him more! He’s worth every second!!! You’ll see…..
