Praisin’ Through the Virus (pt.3): “Remember”

God Gold of the day

‘ Come and see what God has done: he is awesome in his deeds toward the children of man. He turned the sea into dry land; they passed through the river on foot. There did we rejoice in him, who rules by his might forever, whose eyes keep watch on the nations— let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah ‘

Psalm 66:5-7

Praisin’ Through The Virus (pt.2): “Out With the Old, In With the New”

God Gold of the day

‘Bless our God, O peoples; let the sound of his praise be heard, who has kept our soul among the living and has not let our feet slip. For you, O God, have tested us; you have tried us as silver is tried. You brought us into the net; you laid a crushing burden on our backs; you let men ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water; yet you have brought us out to a place of abundance.

Psalm 66:8-12

Taste and See That the LORD Is Good

“Of David, when he changed his behavior before Abimelech, so that he drove him out, and he went away. I will bless the LORD at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul makes its boast in the LORD; let the humble hear and be glad.

Oh, magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together! I sought the LORD, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed. This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them. Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!

Oh, fear the LORD, you his saints, for those who fear him have no lack! The young lions suffer want and hunger; but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing. Come, O children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD. What man is there who desires life and loves many days, that he may see good? Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit.

Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. The eyes of the LORD are toward the righteous and his ears toward their cry. The face of the LORD is against those who do evil, to cut off the memory of them from the earth. When the righteous cry for help, the LORD hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.

Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all. He keeps all his bones; not one of them is broken. Affliction will slay the wicked, and those who hate the righteous will be condemned. The LORD redeems the life of his servants; none of those who take refuge in him will be condemned.”

Wanted to send just a piece of this scripture but it’s just so full from top to bottom of lessons to learn from David’s character and heart. And more importantly so much about God’s heart for His people, He is soooo GOOD!

2 Samuel 5:17-20

David Defeats the Philistines

“When the Philistines heard that David had been anointed king over Israel, all the Philistines went up to search for David. But David heard of it and went down to the stronghold. Now the Philistines had come and spread out in the Valley of Rephaim. And David inquired of the Lord, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will you give them into my hand?” And the Lord said to David, “Go up, for I will certainly give the Philistines into your hand.” And David came to Baal-perazim, and David defeated them there. And he said, “The Lord has broken through my enemies before me like a breaking flood.” Therefore the name of that place is called Baal-perazim.”

Been reading a lot about David lately because I’ve been blown away by his story and the way he lives and walks out his relationship with the Lord. He faced so many “Giants” in his life and God delivered him time and time again. Why did he receive so much of God’s delivering power? Because God received all of him. David was in full submission to God’s plan, purpose, and will for his life so it showed in the way he lived. As soon as he found out about the Philistines plan, he didn’t say “Well I’m a gifted warrior,” running straight into battle using his own gifts and power. He ran straight to the Lord, seeking out council on his situation. He gave it to the Lord and the Lord answered, giving David the armor, power, and confidence to deliver him past his enemies. The coolest part about these verses, I wondered what “Baal-perazim” meant, looked it up and it means “God of the breakthrough.” Pretty cool right?!? No matter how well we think we can use our gifts to get us through, no one is more interested in the use of our gifts than the one who gave them. I’m amazed at David’s character and confidence but I’m even more amazed that I serve the same God, that equipped and delivered men like David. Knowing that, I have no doubt that I can walk and live out my relationship with the Lord with supreme confidence, not because of who I am, but because of the God I serve. God of the breakthrough. We all can!
