“We praise you, God, we praise you, for your Name is near; people tell of your wonderful deeds.”
– Psalm 75:1
Hope everyone had an awesome Sunday! Got to experience a “Night of Worship” at church tonight. Didn’t know what to expect, of course I knew worship would be involved but I remember thinking. “Worship for like an hour?” It was new to me to worship more than the worship time before the service. Throughout the service I learned so much about how powerful and awesome worshiping God is!!! We so often look for a sermon, a message to hold onto and think that’s the best way to get closer to God. The act of worshiping, raising your voice, singing praise to the One who gave it all to us, worship brings you so close and personal with God. It’s an experience where you can let out all the things that hold you in bondage and sing the Lord’s victory and freedom over it all! Worship is so intimate and raw, it brings you to know God more deeply and feel His presence working in your life like never before!
It was so awesome to see God working through worship tonight, watching close friends fall in surrender to Him, hearing the cries of Amens from believers all around you! It was just so awesome to experience God in this way! What struck me even deeper was realizing the power of singing God’s victory over your personal strongholds was seeing the true meaning of worship! To take worship outside of the church into our daily lives, speaking the praises of what God has done in our lives to others! Worshiping by the way you talk, walk, and serve! Worship isn’t is extremely personal between you and God but to take worship into everyday life so others can see how awesome the God we serve is, so they can see the great power and beauty of His love for us! That just magnifies worship even more!
Heard this song tonight and what an awesome song to worship the Lord! Really encouraging story of what worship and praising God can bring to our unbelief! RAISE A HALLELUJAH TODAY!!!!!
My buddy Dillon sent me this song the other day and I loved it the first time I heard it but now, after I’ve experienced God a little more these words meant even more. I was walking in my house tonight and just happened to look up. I saw so many stars, yeah I’ve seen stars before but it just hit me that I have this holy connection with the One who created those stars in the sky. WOW!!! The God that created every thing literally loves us so much that He protects us, He works everything for our good, He gives us strength when we don’t have enough to stand, and once again He loves us so so much! It amazes me that God could love such a weak and lowly person like myself, with lusts and evil desires running rampant through my flesh, He still loves just as much as ever. The most beautiful picture of God’s grace, even though we mess up at times, fall into temptations and just plain out fail. Even in the lowest of valleys when we think we are too far gone and all alone, God always reveals Himself to us in the most beautiful ways reminding us of this holy and powerful connection we have with Him. No matter our sin or the failures of yesterday God still loves, and God is so faithful in His love for us, he allows us the chance to come to Him with our struggles and He hears our cries for help. He builds us up, grows us and strengthens us to move past the struggles of our lives, out of what we thought was impossible and into His possible. It amazes me, so often I feel beat down and wrapped up by my weakness, by the failure of my past but His grace brings everything to newness in Him. Despite how we failed yesterday, with God each moment is an opportunity to stand in strength through Him, overcome and be more than we could ever be on our own. His grace erases our past and brings us into His freedom, life and life so abundantly. How amazing is this relationship we have with such a loving God.
He’s so much bigger than us or anything in this world, He is the only reason for our praise. So lift up your hands today, raise your voices and say “Yes I Will.” Praise His name from the pits of your struggle or wherever you are because with God we rest in victory and His strength!!! Thank you Lord for loving us the way you do. I pray that you continue to teach us more and more of your truth, moving us forward past our yesterday’s with your awesome grace into the freedom and victory we have with you today! Grow us, mold us, teach us and strengthen us Lord, we will praise your name so the world can here just HOW GREAT YOU ARE GOD!!!!!!!
“Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2This I declare about the LORD : He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him.
3For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease.
4He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.
5Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day.
6Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday.
7Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you.
8Just open your eyes, and see how the wicked are punished.
9If you make the LORD your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter,
10no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home.
11For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go.
12They will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.
13You will trample upon lions and cobras; you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet!
14The LORD says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name.
15When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them.
16I will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation.”
