God Gold of the Day
‘Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.’
Psalms 119:105
This piece of Gold from God’s Word stands alone and I feel like not much else needs to be said here. If you’re like me, I really struggle with the daily rhythm of reading His Word and spending quiet, intentional time with Him. I have a million excuses and reasons I make up to why I don’t but at the end of the day when I struggle, fall short, and wonder why I feel so incapable of living out the life God has called me to, those reasons mean nothing. The simple truth of the matter is this; how can I expect to live my life in a God-honoring way and serve others for the purpose He has set me here on this earth for if I have no fuel in the tank to do so. With busy schedules and so much fast paced craziness going around around me, these excuses I make leave me coming up short but is that the way God intended it to be for us?
NOOO!!! Not at all! Although I struggle with this probably just as you do, God has given us His truth and the Words from His very heart to not only live by but to be empowered by and fueled to fill up our hearts with His goodness and love which overflows into the lives around us. We have no excuses that mean anything at the end of the day, if you’re like me and you wonder why you do the things you do, why you struggle and find yourself falling short way too often, my challenge to myself and you this week is to check your fuel supply. Where are you getting filled up and fueled in your life? God has given us such an amazing gift to hear from Him in this way, so why would we overlook that? If we know where our fuel and strength comes from then why aren’t we spending time with Him at the source. God’s Word is more than just words on a page, it’s where our life begins, it’s where anything good in our lives starts, and it’s the guidance we desperately need in our lives to walk in His ways above our own, to make an everlasting Kingdom impact on the many lives we have around us daily. Let’s dig in this week and not overlook this gift we’ve been given!!! Put all else to the side and dwell with Him in His Word, you’ll never know what could happen in your life, the change that will occur in your heart and the hearts of others around you until you try to honestly and intentionally spend time with God in this way. Praying for you this week in this challenge and I ask you please pray for me too! I’M SO DAGGUM EXCITED TO SEE WHAT GOD IS GOING TO DO!!!!
I resonate with these weekly posts and I think it is a lovely way to center in on the concept of mindfulness and actively choosing to remain still and quiet in God’s word. Blessings!
