God Gold of the Day

The guy in this video speaking is Nick Foles. He’s a NFL quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars and after seeing this interview today, you’ll quickly see why I’m telling you about this random football player!!!

It’s so AWESOME to see a guy who led his team to a Super Bowl victory, one of the greatest accomplishments for any athlete, giving EVERYTHING to Christ!!! Now after a couple of years, he has switched teams and came in to another team prepared to start. An injury caused a setback on his season and with a new young quarter back stepping up to take the lead, his job there looks dim. There is SO MUCH powerful truth that can be taken away from this video but the biggest thing being that despite being on top of the world as a super bowl champion, despite going through a bad injury that ruined what looked like to be a BIG season in his career, and a new young guy stepping up to possibly take his job. All you can hear him say in the mountain top moments and the hard times in the valley is JESUS!!!

He points to Jesus in such a way that literally NOTHING else in this world that happens to him, none of it really amounts to any importance when compared to having a relationship with Christ. Even hearing him talking about being injured, which is a hard thing to battle as an athlete, he recognizes even in that moment that seems “bad” God is at work for so much GOOD as he embraces the relationships with his teammates in the locker room attacking the purpose God has given him. The only purpose that matters, loving others and pointing them to Christ by word and example!! What an awesome example this is for us to learn from and one that is being made by a guy in a position where you don’t usually see it.

There is no trophy or any amount of success that can ever amount to the joy and LIFE that Christ gives!!! Even in the times where from our human eyes things don’t look good, God is still at work for so much GOOD!!!! Praying for you today that God will move us to speak boldly about Him and how good He is!!! Praying that God will open our eyes to see that our lives are worth so much more than anything we can have in this world, because having Christ in your life is the GREATEST blessing and reward we could ever receive!!!
