God Gold of the Day
I’m going to go ahead and tell you that this gold is not from today, actually this is from a year or two ago when these God Gold messages were just text messages sent to some close friends. This is one of those moments that looking in your past is good and encouraging as I look to see what God has done with these messages, it’s just a small piece of all that He can and will do in my life and yours too! Excited and thankful to share this “Old Gold” with you, what’s crazy is that younger Jordan has really used this message to speak some much needed truth into my life. I pray that you leave this message as encouraged and moved as I am right now. Gosh, isn’t this life with Jesus awesome!!!!
“What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”
Heard a quote today that opened my eyes. “There’s a reason the windshield is bigger than the rear view mirror, what lies ahead is more important than what you’ve left behind.”
Idk bout y’all but sometimes I get in those days or seasons of my life and it’s almost like I feel trapped. I spend days wasting my time being lazy or I let the sin of my past creep back in and get to me. It’s easy to go day by day and feel like you just can’t move forward, you can’t get over the sin of your past. Ya know what’s really awesome? The gospel. The gospel tells us we don’t have to live that way. We don’t have to waste our lives looking in the rear view mirror. When we realize the price Jesus paid for us, just like He rose from the grave and was resurrected, He did that so we can rise from the death of our former life. The gospel is the windshield. It’s so much bigger, we can see everything clearer. Looking through the windshield we have hope, we’re not dwelling on the sin we committed yesterday or what we didn’t do, we are moving forward, being made new and growing with Christ. It’s a daily grind of looking into the windshield of the gospel, dying to our former life’s and being made new, risen to the life God has created us for. It’s okay to look back into the rear view mirror occasionally just so we can see how far Christ has moved us and looking back ahead knowing the awesomeness to come. Let the gospel be what drives you and moves you forward. You may be living in your past and feel dead but today is a new day. Just like Christ won the battle, trust in His victory and win the day
