God Gold of the day
Wanted to share this “old gold” with you today that I had sent out a year or so ago! I pray this Word and the lessons from it gives you a refreshing and thirst quenching view of Christ in your life! Enjoy!!!
“Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.” “Sir,” the woman said, “you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water? Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his livestock?” Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.””
I pray these lessons here help you as much as they have me! This woman had no idea who she was talking to. I noticed, as a follower of Jesus Christ, how much do I even realize who I’m talking to when I pray? How much do I realize the magnitude of having a personal relationship with Jesus? I’m like the Samaritan woman in a way, Jesus is doing a work all around me, speaking directly to me, but I live as if I have no idea. Why? I get caught up in earthly things and my human flesh, operating off regular water. Just like the Samaritan woman, I don’t understand what Jesus is saying, I don’t see how Jesus could get water from a deep well without any equipment cause I’m operating off regular water. I’m operating from earthly things and the power of my flesh to figure out my problems and give me what I need to feel at peace. Operating with regular water, seeking deliverance and pleasure from it, you’ll always be dissatisfied. You’ll have to keep going to the well day after day to fetch more water because you’ll always be thirsty. Living water is a whole other story. We don’t understand living water, that Jesus is sitting right beside us at all times speaking to us, or what comes in a relationship with him because living water is higher. He’s higher than anything of this world. When we understand that Jesus is living in us and through us, we don’t need any equipment to get water from a deep well or overcome a tough situation, we need Jesus. We don’t have to look for deliverance or answers from earthly things or our flesh, to be able to overcome and be satisfied with understanding only Jesus can supply that. All that earth can provide is never going to be enough to fill our hearts and the pleasures that we think can are only temporary. The water which Jesus give truly satisfies. The blessings and mercies which Jesus give us doesn’t just fill our hearts and lives in this life but is overflowing into the one to come in eternity. Blows my mind how much I choose and operate off regular water when Jesus’ living water is right there in front of me! I wondered why I was thirsty so much. Every time you start getting thirsty, seek and talk to Jesus, drink his living water and say bye to your thirst.
