Son-day Surprise

God Gold of the Day

Today’s Son-day surprise is a song I heard earlier that really hit a lot of what the Lord has placed on my heart these past few days. After spending those few days in Baltimore, having my eyes opened to see the pain and struggle at such a big level, the Lord opened up my eyes to see such a big truth. After going on mission trips before, my eyes have been so open to see how good I have it and all the blessings the Lord has surrounded me with. Of course I want to feel guilty for what I have and what others don’t but I feel way more guilty for the way I use those gifts to honor the One who gave them. I so easily get caught up in what I don’t have and chase things I think I have to have to survive but the line “take it all, take it all away, magnify no other name, open up my eyes to You.” It’s been a big lesson for me in these words. Take away all the things that I desire and chase that hinder me from magnifying the name of Christ through my life. Take away my selfish ways and really my self so I can truly magnify His name the most. Magnify the name of Christ, who has given me everything, the blessings I have, the life of freedom I have and have eternally. Not magnify my name but His. And most importantly I pray the Lord continues to open up my eyes and yours to see what we need to give up, the gifts we’ve been given, so we can see how it’s so much bigger than us. It’s crazy when the Lord opens up our eyes to see this life in His light how different we think, we feel, we act. How different we magnify His awesome name! We’ve been given this life to magnify the One who gave it to us in the first place. The only mission is to magnify. People are in desperate need of seeing Christ being magnified through us, lives are at stake, will we magnify or just sit by?

24 year old dude with not a clue what he's doing but God's grace continues to amaze me! Current Seminary student, avid adventure seeker, and getting married to the most humble, weird, and beautiful girl on the planet! Wasted a lot of years living what I thought was the "good life", then Christ showed me what living really is. I pray that my story can somehow help in whatever way possible, to give encouragement and hope that Christ can do the same with you.
